My Philosophy
Although I am a newcomer to the Phalene variety, I hope to breed quality dogs for performance, conformation and companionship. I strive for balance in my dogs. Phalenes, like their Papillon siblings, enjoy having a job to do. Agility is a natural fit for the Phalene and they excel at it.
Alasera prides itself on healthy companions. All my dogs are screened for patella luxation and PRA. All puppies will be dewormed, vaccinated and examined for any significant health abnormalities.
The Phalenes at this time have a limited gene pool and I am hoping to be able to help the Phalene develop into a viable variety here in the U.S.
All puppies placed in pet homes are sold on spay/neuter contracts and prospective homes are carefully screened to ensure the best puppy “fit” in the new home. All puppies whelped at Alasera will benefit from extensive socialization to other people, dogs, cats and unique situations.
I will breed litters only when I am looking for a new show or agility prospect, so puppies are only available on a very limited basis.
About Alasera
My name is Lisa Pertile. I have been a companion animal veterinarian for over 19 years. I have always owned dogs but only recently became a serious dog fancier with my Phalenes.
Alasera (“Nightwing” in Italian) was founded in 2003 when I acquired my first Phalene, Caratoots Creamy Caramelle (“Mellie”), from Sweden. Little did I know how consumed I would become in the world of dog sports/conformation and breeding Phalenes.
I began competing in AKC conformation shows in 2004, winning Mellie’s first points in 2005. Soon thereafter, we began acquiring agility titles. In short, we were hooked on competition.
I became a member of the Papillon Club of America in 2005. That same year, I was lucky to get Johtina’s Ambrosia (“Abby”) another Phalene puppy from Sweden and have started the process all over again.
Alasera officially took effect on July 15, 2006 with the whelping of the first Alasera litter out of Caratoots Creamy Caramelle and Ch. Skymningen’s Nicodemus, two beautiful Phalene babies with lots of potential. Please see my news page for the latest from Alasera Phalenes.
