On January 17th, Ace and handler Terry earned the third leg of their Novice Jumpers with Weaves title. Great course time and a first place finish to boot. Almost picked up their Novice Standard title too, but had some problems with the teeter. They are well on their way to a great agility career together. Both Ace and Terry made it look really easy! So, he is now Alasera’s Grand Slam, NAJ!

On January 10th, the Alasera gang headed to the Belgian Malinois AKC agility trial at SPDTC in St. Paul, MN. Mellie had a great day, earning her 14th Double Q and another 23 MACH points. She had a fourth place finish in a very big and competitive 8″ Jumpers class. Ace and Terry made their first debut as a handler/dog team in an agility trial and they both did great. They took first place in the Novice JWW and Novice Standard class, earning two more legs to their Novice titles. Great times and performance for both.

On January 11th, we again headed to a trial, this time, the Agile Canines USDAA trial at the Leatherdale equine center in St. Paul. Working in dirt and cool weather was a new experience for some of the dogs. Mellie and Abby did not have any qualifying runs, but Ace and Terry managed a second place finish and a qualifying run in the 12″ Jumpers class. It was a long week-end but lots of fun.

On January 3rd, 2009 at the Land O’ Lakes Kennel Club dog show in St. Paul, MN, Mellie, Caratoots Creamy Caramelle, MX, MXJ, NF won WB and four points for her first major win under judge Fred Bassett. She looked great and now has 10 points and one major toward her championship.
