Ch. Johtina’s Ambrosia, aka “Abby” had two puppies-one male and one female. The male was not able to be delivered naturally, so a c-section was done on 9/22/08. Both puppies appeared to be doing well but the girl puppy began to do poorly and passed away on 9/24. She was a nicely marked adorable little girl and I am heartbroken to lose her. Unfortunately, early puppy mortality can be high and she faced an uphill battle. The male puppy appears very healthy.
At the Bloomington Obedience Training Club agility trial in Bloomington, MN on Sept. 14, Mellie had two great runs, although missed a Double Q by a missed weave entry. She was fast and happy and proved herself to rise to the occasion. She placed second in her Jumpers with Weaves run out of 11 in her class. She earned another 12 MACH points. No more trials for awhile, time to regroup.
At the MAC USDAA agility trial in Lake Elmo, MN on Sept. 6 and 7, Mellie qualified in 6 runs, earning first or second place finishes in all of them. She earned her Gamblers title, Jumpers title and her first Versatility title, the AD (Agility Dog) title. She ran very well, fast, confident and happy and we had mostly great weather both days. She earned new legs in Snooker and Advanced Standard, thus gaining the right to start in all Advanced classes in her next USDAA trial. It was a great week-end. There are not many small breed dogs running in USDAA agility trials as they have to jump at higher heights than in other venues, but she made it look really easy.
