At the PCA National Specialty in San Antonio, Texas April 11-15th, Ace was entered in three events, 6-9 month Puppy Dog Sweeps (judge Danny Ford), the regular 6-9 month Puppy Dog class under judge Peggy Hogg, and the Moth Ball Phalene fun match under judge Jane Raemy from Denmark. We were pleasantly surprised to see him “make the cut” in the Sweeps competition, finally ending up in the top 7 out of 21 puppies in that class. He finished in fourth place in his class in the Phalene fun match. The Moth Ball Phalene Match was a very special event with 28 Phalenes competing. There was a competition for Best Dressed Handler and several handlers dressed the part. I donned Texan themed show attire and a cowboy hat for extra flair. This was Ace’s first air/hotel trip and he was a perfect traveler. (photo courtesy of Andi Meloon)
At the PCA National Specialty in San Antonio, Texas at the Phalene Fun Match, Abby took Reserve Winner’s Bitch. There was stiff competition as the judge thought this class was of very high quality. Judge Jane Raemy from Denmark (Blicci Papillons and Phalenes) did a great job sorting through 28 phalenes. Abby really enjoys strutting her stuff in the ring. She won a beautiful dog bed made of fabric with “Old Master” type phalenes in the pattern. A very special win for us.
